Trocnov is a birthplace of the Hussite military leader, Jan Žižka. It is located 16 km southwest to České Budějovice. The whole area is suitable for family and groups visits, the area contains a small but newly refusbished museum dedicated to the Hussite movement and its influence on the surrounding regions inluding Bavarian hinterlands. The visitors can enjoy a wide varienty of expositions, open-air installations and landmarks including education programmes and interactive games. The tour through the area takes 2-3 hours and it is recommended to start in the museum, which itself is located in a former Meierhof of Borovany monastery.
