“The village was already mentioned in the 13th century, and by the second half of the 15th century it was one of the major settlements of the county. Its church, dedicated to St. Martin, was first mentioned in 1433. The medieval building is still standing today. Its rectangular nave is closed off by a twobay sanctuary ending in five sides of a polygon. On the south wall of the nave and the sanctuary tracery windows can be seen. The sanctuary is covered with a net vault, and a stone pastoforium with a cross decorates the north wall. Today’s church is probably not the same one mentioned at the beginning of the 15th century. More likely it is the result of a single campaign of construction that dates to the end of the 15th-beginning of the 16th century. The most important Baroque element among its furnishings is a Calvary group.”
